Deep, Organic & Progressive: Dive Into My Latest House Music DJ Mix

Hey everyone, welcome back to the blog! If you have been following my musical journey for a while, you know how much I love the deeper, more hypnotic side of electronic music. Today, I am incredibly excited to share my latest live DJ mix with you, which I just uploaded to Mixcloud.

For this session, I wanted to curate a sonic journey that bridges the gaps between organic house, deep house, and progressive house. Whether you are looking for the perfect soundtrack to unwind, need some deep focus music for work, or want to gear up for a late-night club session, this mix has you covered.
You can listen to the full set right now over on my Mixcloud profile. Below, I’ve broken down the vibe of the transitions, the gear I used, and the official tracklist.
The Vibe: From Organic Textures to Progressive Melodies
When planning this set, my goal was storytelling through track selection. I deliberately started the mix in the realm of organic house and ambient electronica, kicking off with beautiful soundscapes from Anthony Pappa, Framewerk, and Jon Hopkins. I love these sounds because they rely heavily on warm acoustic textures and earthy influences, setting a welcoming mood that draws you in.
As the mix progresses, the energy subtly shifts. We dive straight into the lush chords, atmospheric pads, and driving basslines of modern deep house and melodic house from artists like Marsh, Braxton, and Romain Garcia.
Finally, the set culminates in a wave of peak-time progressive house and club anthems. Expect hypnotic arpeggios and emotional build-ups from the likes of Jody Wisternoff and Yotto, ending on a massive high with the legendary Adana Twins remix of Josh Wink.
DJ Gear & Mixing Techniques Used
As a massive music technology nerd, I’m always experimenting with my setup to see how it alters my mixing style. For this particular recording, I went with the latest software tool to hit the DJ community, DJ Studio.
To keep the transitions between the organic and progressive tracks seamless, I relied heavily on long, layered blending. Because these genres feature incredibly intricate percussion and basslines, quick cuts rarely work. Instead, I used:
  • Extended EQ blending to smoothly swap the low-end frequencies without causing muddy bass clashes.
  • Subtle delay and reverb effects on the high-hats and vocals to create a sense of space during the breakdowns.
  • Sample Lanes via DJ Studio with layered subtle vocals within transitions.
