Dangerous Dougal Mixcloud – Egoland Mix 53

A journey into Latin House and Soulful House

Dangerous Dougal DJ Mix

Here I am at Mixcloud DJ mix number 53! I’ve put this mix together to celebrate Spring here in the UK. The weather is turning brighter, summer is just around the corner and the South West of England is becoming beautifully green.

This DJ mix has a number of tracks selected by my beautiful wife from her recent iTunes purchases mixed in with a few of my old and recent favorites.

The mix starts with a stunning re-interpretation by Joseph Ray of a track by Lakou Mizik, a collective of Haitian musicians united in a mission to use the healing spirit of music to communicate pride, strength and hope. With a haunting vocal this is the perfect intro for a spring vibe.

I’ve then taken the listener on a journey through some classics including Chris Malinchak’s ‘So Good To Me’ to one of my old all time favourite percussive tracks, Wozsonik’s ‘Steel Dreams ‘.

The journey follows with DJ Gregory and his recent hit ‘Canoa’ through to Miguel Migs with ‘Sensations’ and finally an all time classic to close, River Ocean’s ‘Love and Happiness’.

Spring has most definitely sprung!

The Next DJ Tech Revolution - Motorised Jog Wheels On DJ Controllers

DJing has come a long way since the days of vinyl records and turntables. Today's technology has pushed the boundaries of what's possible, bringing new levels of creativity and precision to the art of mixing. One of the most exciting developments in recent years is the rise of motorised jog wheels on DJ controllers. With the recent release of the Rane Performer the talk of motorised jog wheels has never been more prevalent. If you're a DJ or aspiring to become one, understanding this technology could be a game-changer for your performances.  What Are Motorised Jog Wheels? At its core, a jog wheel is a circular interface on a DJ controller used to manipulate the playback of music tracks. Traditionally, jog wheels are non-motorised, meaning they don't spin on their own. You have to manually move them to control the track. However, motorised jog wheels are different—they mimic the feel of a turntable platter by spinning like a vinyl record, offering a more authentic scratc...
